Without leaving your own home, you can tune into Dr. Jessie Rogers, St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, who will explore the Sunday OT readings with us over 4 Tuesday nights, Sept 29, Oct 6, 13 and 20 and help us to understand their relevance for us today. Spiritual Wellness Adventure Tours taking in Killarney through the Dingle Peninsula.   Our aim is to enter into the prayer life of the early monks as they wrapped themselves in the beauty of God’s creation, our common home.   Through music, song and story we connect with these early spiritual masters in the Irish cradle of Christianity. Accompanied by: Deacon Thady O’Connor. Please ring Evelyn for more details on 087-9365383.

Kilcummin Looking Good have contracted the services of O’Leary & Associates to prepare a community plan for the village of Kilcummin. Due to restrictions around public meetings we are asking people to participate in the consultation process and have their say by completing an online community survey. A link to the survey will be available on our facebook page. We would encourage as many people as possible to complete the survey as it is important that everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the future development of Kilcummin. The survey will also be sent to all organisations in the parish. People have from Sept 16th up until Sept 30th to complete the survey. This community plan is kindly funded by NEWKD CLG under the LEADER Programme and is also supported by Kerry Country Council. If anyone does not have access to our facebook page and would like to participate, we can post a hard copy of the survey To You. You Can Contact The Rural Development Office At 064-6643357 Or Kilcummin Looking Good Members Tony At 087-6258641 / Sheila at 087-7944679.

Kilcummin Comhaltas A.G.M will take place on Wed.30th Sept. at 8pm in the Recreational Hall under strict Covid 19 Guidelines.  All welcome.

Anabla National School Clothes Collection: Anabla N.S will have a used clothes collection on Thur 15th Oct. Clothes can be dropped at the school from Wed. 14th Oct. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Bog Walk: Walk Brochures are available at the Rural Development Office.   Following recent feedback from walkers, we would very much appreciate if the following was observed by all;

(1) Bring your rubbish home with you and help keep this environment clean.

(2) Keep your dog(s) on a lead when you come in contact with fellow walkers.

This is a beautiful amenity in our Parish, and we should all strive to make it a clean and friendly place to enjoy.

Happiness

Happiness is something

 we create in our minds,

 not something we search for

 and so seldom find.

It’s just waking up

 and beginning the day,

 by counting our blessings

 and kneeling to pray.

It’s giving up thoughts

 that breed discontent,

 and accepting what comes

 as a gift heaven-sent.

It’s giving up wishing

 for things we have not,

 and making the best

 of whatever we’ve got.
