Letter to the First Communion Children
Dear First Communion Children,
I miss my visits to the school. I have been thinking of you and remembering you and your families in my prayers. What a very special year 2020 was to be for you and all those who were to receive the wonderful sacrament of Holy Communion for the very first time!
It is very disappointing that your First Communion day has had to be postponed. It has also been disappointing for your teachers and your families. I know of all the work and preparation you did in school for the celebration of the sacrament. Your family had plans made for you too. They wanted to mark how special receiving Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time would be for you.
I need you to know that, when the time comes, I will do all in my power to make the celebration of your First Communion a prayerful, joyful and memorable occasion.
This Sunday, 14th of June, we celebrate Corpus Christi. This is a special day when Christians all over the world honour the Blessed Sacrament (The Body of Christ in the Holy Communion). You, your class and all those waiting to receive First Holy Communion will be remembered in all Masses in the diocese next Sunday, we ask you and your family to link in to any livestreamed Mass in the diocese. A special candle will be lit at the beginning of the Mass. You are invited to light a candle in your home as you attend Mass.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in the near future. Let’s keep each other in our prayers. I wish you and your family good health and happiness.

Prayer to St Anthony
O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints,
your love for God and charity for his creatures made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety.
Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me the favour I seek.
The answer to my prayer may require a miracle;
even so, you are the saint of miracles. O gentle and loving Saint Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy,
whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus,
who loved to be folded in your arms,
and the gratitude of my heart will always be yours.
