Ascension of the Lord. 24/05/2020

Please pray Maurice (Mossy) Spillane, Tralee & formerly Scartaglen who died recently. May he rest in peace.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church is now open for visitation from 8am to 8pm. We still need to be prudent and exercise caution and good hygiene practices. We will have regular cleaning and have sanitiser dispensers in place. As people are doing for visiting other places, so also it is encouraged to wash your hands before leaving home and on return, using gloves or mask if you wish, being aware to touch as few surfaces as possible, allowing at least 2metres distance to others, being patient with others walking the aisles and not to congregate at candle shrines etc.

 Please Read This Important Guidance

 1.  Please practice strict social distancing at all times, on Church Grounds and inside the Church.

2.  Please follow the signage regarding entry to, and exit from the Church.

3.  Please use hand sanitisers on entering and exiting the Church.

4.  As far as possible do not touch surfaces.

5.  Follow the arrows which indicate movement flow within the church.

6.  Please cooperate and be understanding when offered guidance on safety issues

Bog Walk: A major clean-up of the Bog Walk by staff from the Kilcummin Rural Dev. took place during the week. As a result we would appeal to all who use the facility to be mindful of our beautiful environment and to refrain from littering the area. A major problem are abandoned fertiliser bags and we would appreciate if any unused bags were picked up by the turf cutters and disposed of properly at the end of the turf cutting season.  Our thanks to Kerry Co. Council’s litter Warden for all their help in the disposal of the rubbish. Mile Buíochas.

A Prayer for Overcoming Fear

Dear Father,
My heart and mind are flooded with fears.
Sometimes I am paralysed, I feel unable to go on.
These fears are overwhelming, they remain with me day and night.
Yet I hold onto your truth.
You have told us not to fear, for you have overcome the world.
So I cling to you, I trust in your promises, that you will never fail me, never forsake me.
In moments of such crippling fear,
I choose to hold your hand.
I know you have experienced the most fearful places,
I know that you have risen again.

In you all promises meet and new life begins.
You are my Saviour,
I hide in you,
Protected by your love,
And sheltered by your grace.
My Father.

Amen
