Appreciation to Fr. George Hayes: The parishioners of Kilcummin wish Fr. George Hayes good luck, health and happiness in his new Ministry as Parish Priest of Kenmare.  He will be greatly missed here in our parish as he attended to our needs in a dignified and professional matter as a team member of the Clergy of the Killarney Pastoral area. As a grateful community our prayer is “slán agus beannacht de Fr. George.”

Community Games: Kilcummin Community Games Athletics on Wednesday 28th July at 6.45pm at Killarney micro track (St Brendan’s College grounds). Unique opportunity to try out this fabulous new facility. Registration will be on the day. Parish rules apply. Events from tiny tots to u16 both track and field events. Kilcummin Comhaltas:  This year Scoil Éigse will be delivered online via Zoom from Monday August 2nd to Thursday August 5th. Classes being offered include Adult Mixed Instrument, Amhránaíocht, Banjo, Bodhrán, Button Accordion, Fiddle, Flute, Harp, Tin Whistle, Traditional Singing. GAA Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s lotto. Numbers drawn: 7, 15, 17, 21.Next draw Monday 2nd August (Bank Holiday) for €5,500.  

Kilcummin Looking Good have now received the final 3 Year Community Plan for the village of Kilcummin. This document can be made available to all parishioners on request via the Rural Development Office, it can be sent by email or, alternatively, a hard copy can be printed at a cost of €5.00 Also, please see Kilcummin Looking Good Facebook Page.

Anam Cara will hold an online parent meeting for bereaved parents in the Kerry & West Cork area.  It will take place on Tuesday 27th July at 7pm.  Any parents wishing to take part please contact us on 085 2888888 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Recovery Haven Kerry will run a free Webinar for professionals supporting people dealing with cancer, on Friday July 30th at 11.00am.  This will be facilitated by Edel Lawlor. Please contact reception on 066 7192122 to book a place.

The Family Carer Support Projects aim is to enhance the wellbeing of Family Carers of older people in Cork & Kerry, by offering the opportunity to work with the Carer Wellbeing Manager, Lynne Dennehy. Lynne will work with the Family Carer to find out what their needs are, and to develop an action plan to support the Family Carer to meet them.  No question is too big or too small. SHEP Certificate in Personal Development course will run from Autumn 2021 to Spring 2022. This is an 88 hour course and consists of 24 weekly sessions of two and a half hours each plus a Personal Development Weekend (six hours each day) plus six hours for Body Awareness and six hours for Expanding Awareness Modules. Due to the public health situation, SHEP has adapted all of its programmes for this coming autumn so as to offer them (1) fully online and (2) moving to blended online/ in person in Spring 2022 if safe to do so.
