Walk Brochures are available at the Rural Development Office. Following recent feedback from walkers, we would very much appreciate if the following was observed by all;
(1) Bring your rubbish home with you and help keep this environment clean. (2) Keep your dog(s) on a lead when you come in contact with fellow walkers.
This is a beautiful amenity in our Parish, and we should all strive to make it a clean and friendly place to enjoy.
Anabla N.S. will have a used clothes collection on Thursday 15th October. Clothes can be dropped at the school from Wednesday 14th October. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Captain Darragh O’Keefe accepting the Trophy on behaving of the Mastergeeha U-13 Team
MASTERGEEHA FC 0 – 6 INTER KENMARE.
Killarney Celtic 0 – 2 Mastergeeha FC. The season kicked off with an away fixture to our near neighbours on Thursday evening. Captain David O'Leary, vice captain Eoghan Kelly, Keelan O'Shea, Darragh O'Connell and James William's kept the desire to play through the bad conditions throughout the game.
As the game grew longer our resilience grew stronger and it paid off when Sean Doolan capitalized from pressure on their defence. A tidy finish from just outside the box wrapped up the 3 points. Scorers: Eoghan Kelly & Sean Doolan. Man of the Match: Adam Murphy
KILLARNEY ATHLETIC 1- 3 MASTERGEEHA
Our U12 Premier team made the short trip to Killarney Athletic for round 2 of the league. The boys quickly took control but couldn’t find the net. However, on 20 mins, a sweeping move started by the returning Conor Finnegan saw a Jack Murphy Liam O’Mahony 1-2 result in a corner. That delivery saw some penalty box ping-pong before Michael O’Riordan pounced to put us up 1-0 and we kept that lead to half time.
The 2nd half saw us again apply early pressure but Athletic made it 1-1. However, our boys showed great resolve and after Daniel Buckley met a Conn Deally free kick with a header that crashed off the crossbar, Jack Murphy was first to react and toe-poked home for us to retake the lead. We continued to dominate possession and made it 3-1 when Roan Guerin scored from the penalty spot after he himself had been upended in the box.
MASTERGEEHA FC 2- 3MEK
Our U12 B team were involved in a thriller v MEK B on Saturday afternoon. After falling behind to 2 early goals, the boys rolled up their sleeves and driven on by Neil Thompson and Sean Herlihy, they halved the deficit before half time when Mark Fleming was first to react to a Jack Teahan free kick which had hit the crossbar.
The 2nd half saw both teams create further chances with Cianan Dennehy making a number of fine saves for Mastergeeha. The teams were level at 2-2 when Sean Fleming continued his goal-a-game form by beating the keeper at close range. As both teams sought a winner, Mastergeeha came close through good work from Cathal O’Keeffe and Cian Maher. However, MEK struck very late on for what would prove to be the winner.
MASTERGEEHA FC 3- 8MEK
Our C team made their season debut at home v MEK C Saturday afternoon.
The boys were always up against with such a young side but they battled manfully and burst into an early 2-0 lead thanks to a brace of great goals from Alan O’Leary. With Cian O’Rourke keeping the opposition at bay, we held this lead to the 1st water break. Unfortunately, the 2nd quarter saw our inexperience show and despite heroic defending from Eoin Collins, we trailed 5-2 at the break. The 2nd half saw us defend manfully with Jack Doolan, Cian Kennedy and Evan Foley to the fore. While MEK hit the net on 3 further occasions we never gave up and Oran Lynch personified this when he surged clear for an excellent solo goal. Hard luck to the boys.
