BOG WALKS

Walk Brochures are available at the Rural Development Office and Kilcummin Post Office.   Following recent feedback from walkers, we would very much appreciate if the following was observed by all users of the walk; (1) Bring your rubbish home with you and help keep this environment clean. (2) Keep your dog(s) on a lead when you come in contact with fellow walkers or wildlife. This is a beautiful amenity in our Parish, and we should all strive to make it a clean, safe and friendly place to enjoy.

KILCUMMIN LOOKING GOOD

We hope that everybody is staying safe and well during these difficult and challenging times. We would ask people who bring their dogs out for a walk to clean up after them and to respect other road/footpath users with children, buggies etc. Thank you.

RECOVERY HAVEN CANCER SUPPORT HOUSE

Recovery Haven Cancer Support House operates through Level 5. As we enter another extended period of lockdown and restrictions, people are understandably incredibly anxious, worried and finding it more difficult to cope. This is particularly true for the more vulnerable in society - among them, cancer patients, their families and carers. At Recovery Haven Kerry, we want to reassure you that we are still here for you. While taking every precaution advised, we are here to offer emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer, their families or carers. While much of our group and therapy work is currently on hold due to Covid 19, we are still offering phone support, counselling and a range of online classes (Stretch and balance, yoga, pilates, stress management, mindfulness, look good feel better programme, men’s support group and Cancer Thrive and Survive 6 -week self-management programme) throughout Level 5. So, if you or someone you know is in need of support contact us now on 0667192122, email:This email address is being protected from spambots. KERRY ETB COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMME

COVID-19 has had a huge impact on communities throughout Kerry. The Kerry ETB Community Education Programme has responded by making a number of courses available online. Kerry ETB understands that not everyone is confident in accessing courses online, but we are available to support individuals to do so. While nothing can replace the learning and social interactions that occur when we meet face to face, we are mindful that people may become disconnected if we do not respond. Therefore, our tutors are available to deliver courses and provide a platform to keep communities connected. Courses are aimed at adults in Kerry who are living alone, adults who have underlining health issues that have resulted in them cocooning and adults who are caring for a vulnerable adult or child. All courses are free of charge to these groups. Register your interest on www.fetchcourses.ie using relevant course codes on the notice in the Church porch or by contact John on 086-1279381.

‘THE KINGDOM CONNECTS’

Kerry ETB are also taking names of those who wish to learn to use their smartphone, tablet or other portable device for the purpose of staying connected with family and friends. This course will be delivered by our team of ICT tutors who have many years of experience working with people who are not confident around technology! We aim to get adults, particularly those living alone, to develop new skills to ensure we reduce social exclusion at this time.
