LADYBIRD GUIDES are aged 5-7 years and enjoy a fun programme of activities based on the girl’s gradual awareness of herself, other people and her environment. Kilcummin Ladybirds are currently looking for new leaders. They meet weekly on Monday nights from 6-7pm and partake in other occasional activities throughout the year! KILCUMMIN COMMUNITY GAMES: A new season of Community Games events is underway for 2012 with training already started in a few disciplines. GAA: LADIES FOOTBALL: Kilcummin Ladies Football A.G.M. will be held on Thursday 26th January at 7.30pm in the Club. Everyone is welcome. Nominations for all positions and motions are to be with Secretary Colin Counihan no later than Sunday 22nd January.

SOCIAL: This Saturday night the 28th of January the Kilcummin GAA Club hold their Annual Social in the Klub. This will consist of a buffet meal at 7.30pm & 8.30pm followed by music by Uí Bhriain. Tickets at €20 are available from Tim at 086-3450976 or Neilus at 087-2028124 all the usual awards will be presented and the ladies and minor team medals.
FLAG DAY: The GAA Club Officers wish to express thanks to all collectors for their services in Killarney on Saturday also to the general public who gave support.
CLUB FORUM MEETING: The first meeting to discuss the clubs 5 year plan was a great success with over 60 interested people in attendance. There was good discussion from all tables which included a good cross section of age groups and ladies. The next stage in the process are meetings of the steering committees under 5 different headings and we ask that the time and effort of the volunteers will be supported by all our members and parishioners.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP: The 2012 subscription is now due and should be paid to Willie Fleming or Marie Devane, but any Club Official will assist.
DEVELOPMENT DRAW: The importance of the GAA development draw was explained in detail at the club forum meeting and general meeting and a good response is required. The club sellers will be calling over the coming weeks and with prizes of a car and holiday prizes of €3000 and €1000, it is attractive.

A.G.M: The Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday evening with a good attendance. The Chairman and Secretary reported on an extremely busy 2011, which saw the Club celebrate their Centenary of 2010 with the President of the GAA attending the annual social and Micheál O Muircheartaigh launch the clubs 100 year history. There were numerous events organised outside of the football activities involving a huge input from the club organisers. He congratulated the ladies team on winning County & East Kerry titles, the Minors on winning the double in East Kerry League & Championship, Brendan Kealy on an excellent year with Kerry and our Minors who represented Kerry. He acknowledged the hard work being done at Scór level and congratulated the winners. The Chairman expressed thanks to all our players, supporters, sponsors in keeping the Kilcummin GAA Club flag flying proudly. Also Tommy Brosnan stepped down from the player’s representative and Insurance Officer, a position yet to be filled. The Chairman concluded by saying that the support of members and the community was never more important and he was confident that the GAA Clubs contribution to the community was recognised despite the economic climate and we look forward to 2012 with confidence.
